Hi! I’m Janet.

I’m a big-time romantic. Not that life is all sunshine and rainbows, but more that I have a thirst for life and can’t help but appreciate the beauty around me, even in the most mundane of moments. Ever since becoming a mom, I feel that more than ever. I obsess over the little tiny things that I know aren’t forever. The little feet running around the house, the squeals of joy and “mama play with me’s” make up the soundtrack of my life right now. I want to preserve as much of it as I possibly can, and my camera allows me to do that!

I spend most of my free time exploring outdoors with my daughter and our dog. Beaches, creeks, and trails- they are my happy place. And connecting with my daughter in these places is everything to me. I love letting her stomp in puddles, play in mud, and climb boulders and trees. Nature is our place to be wild and free together.

This is the lens I am coming from as an artist capturing your family. The romance is not in a vision of perfection, but it’s in the messy little details that make your family you. I know that the people who come to me aren’t interested in remembering some strange polished version of their loved ones. They want to remember that wild little one who just wants to play, laugh and be held by them. They want the silly faces, the antsy feet, and the tight embraces; the little hands in theirs, the heads so lovingly snuggling into the crook of their neck. This is what I aim to preserve for your family.
