Why You Should Book An Outdoor Photo Session During Bay Area Winter
Splashing in puddles, exploring thriving forests alive with color, and hiking waterfalls- these are just a few of the things I love about Bay Area winters. It’s also why I’m keeping my camera out and my boots muddy. If you’ve been wondering whether winter is the right time for your photo session, keep reading to discover why this season is actually so underrated!
RAIN! Rain means puddles! If you’re like me, and you love bundling your kids in rain gear and heading outdoors to enjoy stomping in puddles, then wintertime in the Bay Area is the time to book a session. I love rain the way I love beaches for photo sessions. Water is so much fun; for those who love it, it brings out a certain playfulness and wildness that is hard to replicate in other environments.
Thriving Forests- point number two. Bay Area forests in the wintertime are just so dang gorgeous! The green is popping, the creeks are flowing. There is so much to see and explore during this time. If frolicking in beautiful forests and along creeks and waterfalls is your kind of vibe like it is mine, get your photo session with me scheduled asap!
Gorgeous lighting and epic winter skies. During the winter, the sun is low in the sky all day, which makes for stunning, directional lighting. If keeping your kiddos up late enough for a summertime golden hour photo session doesn’t seem realistic for you, then take advantage of the amazing lighting during wintertime! There also tends to be more clouds in the sky which make for the most beautiful backdrop!
If this all sounds like your kind of fun, then let’s get your session scheduled and go explore! I have lots of recommendations for beautiful locations that are thriving during this time.
